Clear the Way!

Clear the Way!

Texts for Sunday, December 10, 2023 – 2nd Sunday of Advent:

Isaiah 40:1-11, Psalm 85:1-2,8-13, 2 Peter 3:8-15a, Mark 1:1-8

I love the Advent season. I love the sights and sounds of the celebrations. I love this time of year as the weather cools and leaves fall. We often focus on the preparation for the coming infant Jesus and that is good but there is something more this season points to…

We are a people following Jesus waiting patiently for His second coming! Advent reminds us of His promise to never leave us and that He will return. Advent is a season of waiting while we make preparations.

This coming Sunday, I’ll continue my journey through the Old Testament passages. This Isaiah passage is literally found in the gospel texts and will feel very familiar to you. Join us this Sunday as the voice in the wilderness cries out “Clear the Way!”

Grace & peace,

Pastor Mark
