Texts for Sunday, January 21, 2024 – 3rd Sunday after the Epiphany

Jonah 3:1-5,10, Psalm 62:5-12, 1 Corinthians 7:29-31, Mark 1:14-20

As we enter into a new season in our church calendar, we see a transition from the ministry of John, preparing the way, to Jesus in the beginning of His ministry. We will continue to follow the story of Jesus through the Gospel of Mark in preparation for the Lenten season.

This Sunday, we will explore Jesus’ “Fishy Business” by looking at Mark 1:24-20. As we talk about the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, I want you to explore the beginning of a new season of ministry for Church on the Hill, in keeping with our Methodist heritage of grace and truth. There is much anticipation and excitement for new opportunities to serve our local community in new ways proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ!
